'People are afraid' - why 'unstoppable force' Arsenal are the squad everyone fears.

It's evident why Arsenal stand as numerous fans' top picks to secure the Premier League in the current campaign.

Look at their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace versus those same matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have defeated all of them during this campaign, but lost 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a crucial element why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title target.

They rank top for shutouts (6), goals allowed (3), opposition efforts (72), quality opportunities against (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their effectiveness from free kicks is well known, but opposition teams still struggle to stop the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, a couple extra than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can perform multiple roles now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just fearful of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Credentials

What is especially impressive about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the initial occasion at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the outset, having allocated around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in search of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the business has so far proven successful in style, with his side second top scorers in the league and having the most resilient defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and pundits have labeled Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with conviction and purpose.
